Katherine Pancol

Katherine Pancol (* October 22, 1954 ) is a Moroccan-born French author.

Biography

At the age of five years left Katherine Pancol Casablanca, Morocco, and went with her parents to France. She studied literature and was initially a teacher of French and Latin, before turning to journalism. While working for the magazine Paris-Match and Cosmopolitan, she was discovered by a publisher who was impressed by her style and she encouraged the writing of books. After the huge success of her debut novel Moi D' abord 1979 Pancol moved to New York, where she attended Columbia University lectures on creative writing and screenwriting. During this time she wrote three more novels: Rampant; Scarlett, if possible, and a man like my father.

It was hectic, amusing and full of action: During the time in America also Pancols writing style changed.

Her novel Les yeux jaunes of crocodiles, which was published in 2006, had more than one million copies sold great success in France. For Katherine Pancol was awarded in Moscow as "Best author 2007". Even in 2008, Les yeux was jaunes of crocodiles on position 6 of the best selling books in France. The novel has been translated into Russian, among other things, Chinese, Ukrainian, Polish, Italian, Korean and Vietnamese. With the next two volumes of the novel forms a trilogy.

Katherine Pancol is divorced and has two grown children. She lives in Paris.
