Kāti Mamoe

Kati mamoe or Ngāti mamoe is a historical iwi Māori. He was originally from the region Heretaunga (Napier ), but moved in the 16th century on the South Island of New Zealand, which was already inhabited Māori collectively referred to by others, Waitaha time.

The Kati mamoe were absorbed by marriage and conquest by a year later withdrawing to the South Island Ngai Tahu. Today, there are no special tribal organization of Kati mamoe, but many Ngai Tahu have in their pedigree ( Whakapapa ) connections to them.
