Katia Plaschka

Katia Plaschka is a German singer of the vocal range soprano. She sets her coloratura soprano voice one especially in oratory and in contemporary opera.

Life

Katia Plaschka studied until 2002, singing at the Academy of Music in Frankfurt Gunnel Tash Ohlsson. She also studied at Heidrun Kordes. In the field of historical performance practice, she worked with, among others, Thomas Hengelbrock and Frieder Bernius. She is involved in the catchy project, an educational music project for primary school children.

Opera

In 2001, she was the " high soprano " in music of Luigi Nono in a concert performance in the series flow of time at the Salzburg Festival, his work Io, Frammento because Prometeo, excerpts of his Prometeo for three soprano voices, small chorus, bass flute, contrabass clarinet and live Electronics ( 1981) in the Collegiate Church, Salzburg. Katia Plaschka works with the Vienna opera bag, which specializes in experimental contemporary opera. In 2003, she starred in the world premiere of Wolfgang Mitterer's opera with massacre, which was staged as part of the Vienna Festival by Joachim Schloemer and conducted by Peter Rundel. In 2004, she was the singer in Mitterer's dance piece maze for Soprano and Electronics at the Semper Depot in Vienna, choreographed by Saskia Hölbling for their group DANS.KIAS.

Concerts

Katia Plaschka participates in oratorio performances especially as a soloist. With the Marburg Bach choir sang Haydn's Stabat Mater (2004), Handel's Messiah (2005) and Bach's St. John Passion. In 2003, she led in the Union Church, Idstein, Handel's Gloria, which was until 2001 the composer attributed, and with the choir of St. Martin and the chamber choir Martinis Utrecht Te Deum and Jubilate be. In 2005, she led on Monteverdi's Vespers with the Frankfurter Kantorei. With the new Rheingau choir sang Poulenc's Gloria and John Rutter's 2007 Magnificat in the Rheingau Cathedral in Geisenheim. In 2009, she led the parts I-III of Bach's Christmas Oratorio in the Speyer Cathedral, conducted by Director of Music Mark Melchiori.

Balthasar- Neumann -Chor

Katia Plaschka is a member of Thomas Hengelbrock Balthasar- Neumann -Chor. She was among other things in Bach cantatas with the Konzerthaus Dortmund and in Mozart's Idomeneo at the Barbican Centre.
