Katie Feenstra-Mattera

Cathars Ruth Mattera ( born November 17, 1982 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States Cathars Ruth Feenstra ) is a professional basketball player. She currently plays for the New York Liberty in the Women's National Basketball Association as a center.

Career

College

Mattera played as a center until 2005 for the women's basketball team from Liberty University. During this time, she was named three times to the Big South Conference Player of the Year. Mattera was the greatest player in the history of the Liberty University and the Big South Conference.

Women's National Basketball Association

Mattera was selected by the Connecticut Sun in the eighth place in the WNBA Draft 2005. Shortly thereafter, she was transferred to San Antonio for Margo Dydek. After her first season for the Silver Stars, she was elected on 14 September 2005 in the 2005 All- Rookie Team.

On 22 February 2007, she was transferred to the Detroit Shock for Ruth Riley. Mattera played only one season for Detroit, because in the 2008 season, the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA joined. In the expansion draft to Atlanta decided, among other things Mattera, which thus played in the 2008 season for the Atlanta Dream. In the 2009 season she played for the San Antonio Silver Stars and Chicago Sky, 2010, she moved to the New York Liberty.
