Katsutoshi Naito

Katsutoshi Naito (Japanese内藤 克 俊; * February 25, 1895; † September 27, 1969 ) is a retired Japanese wrestler and judoka and bronze medalist at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris in freestyle wrestling featherweight.

Life

Katsutoshi Naito comes from Hiroshima. He worked there as a judo fighter and went in 1922 to study agriculture at the Pennsylvania State University in the United States. At this university he also learned the freestyle wrestling and represented Japan in 1924 at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924. He won there with four wins the bronze medal in the featherweight.

After these Olympics is Katsutoshi Naito still operated as a wrestler and judoka at the Pennsylvania State University and then went to Brazil in 1929. In Brazil, he became the founder of the local judo sport.
