Kattaqorgon (Cyrillic Каттақўрғон; Russian Каттакурган Kattakurgan ) is a city in the Uzbek province of Samarkand, located about 65 km west-northwest of the provincial capital, Samarkand. Kattaqorgon had, according to the 1989 census, then 59,000 inhabitants, according to a calculation for 2009, the population of 76 562. Kattaqorgon is a county-level city of the same district Kattaqorgon has Payshanba as its capital.

Kattaqorgon situated in an oasis in the valley of Zeravshan on the railway line from Tashkent to Kogon. To the south is the Kattaqorgon reservoir.

Kattaqorgon is known since the 17th century, according to Chinese sources to the city but have been the Great Capital Region after the destruction Marakandas by Alexander. Nearby is also an early capital of the Kushan Empire is said to have been found.
