Kay Fisker

Kay Otto Fisker ( born February 14, 1893 in Frederiksberg, † June 21, 1965 in Copenhagen) was a Danish architect and designer. He is one of the most important residential architects in Denmark and was international, but primarily active in the greater Copenhagen area.

Fisker studied from 1909 to 1921 at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and then worked as an architect at various Copenhagen offices. He was one of the architects of the building of the University of Aarhus. From 1936 to 1963 he was professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In 1951 and 1957 he worked as a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

At the beginning of its activity Fisker's works were influenced by neoclassicism, as it apply an end to Carl Petersen. With the multi-family house Bartningallee 10 Fisker participated in the Interbau 1957 in Berlin part (see list of cultural monuments in Berlin- Hansaviertel ).
