Kay Wehner

Kay Wehner ( born July 12, 1971 in ironworks town ) is a German football goalkeeper.

Wehner played in his youth in his hometown in building ironworks town and then the EFC Stahl. There he was keeper of the Regional team and was 100 times the gate until 1995, after he moved to FC Cottbus energy. There he became the regular keeper and experienced in the 1996/97 season a highlight of his career. Firstly, the Cottbusern succeeded this year the rise of the Regional to the 2nd Bundesliga. Secondly, they reached the final of the DFB Cup, with Wehner as " Penalty Killer " became the heroes of the Brandenburg Cup in two games.

After a successful year second division threw him in the summer of 1998, a torn ACL far back. His replacement Tomislav Piplica sat through as a goalkeeper and after he had it also forfeited to the coach Eduard Geyer, he left after a year without any application Cottbus.

At first FC Union Berlin he could not quite take root and so he changed already during the winter break 2000/ 01 back in the south to the Bavarian regional league Wacker Burghausen as successor to the retired crowd favorite Oscar Kosche. There he finally managed to establish itself as a sovereign number 1 and in the 2001/ 02 season, he succeeded to the Upper Bavaria for the second time in his career promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga again. Then he had another successful year second division before he got competition for space between the posts from 2003 with the erstligaerfahrenen Uwe Gospodarek.

Since 2004 he has been at the castle houses goalkeeper of the first team, but plays frequently in the second team in the league Bavaria and is also goalkeeping coach for the club offspring. Since July 2009, he trained as an assistant coach the first team of DJK Emmerting. Since 2010 he has been coach of the first / second team of DJK Emmerting.
