Background
The song was recorded in the Hansa studios in Berlin from March to May 1985. The singer Fish said about Kayleigh, it was a way to say sorry:
" ' Kayleigh ' was a way of saying sorry. I had a lot of relationships did of basically I'd wrecked Because I was obsessed with the career and where I wanted to go. I was very, very selfish and I just wanted to be the famous singer but I was starting to become aware of the sacrifices I did what making, and I think I did what Kay One Of Those sacrifices. "
