Kayoko Obata

Kayoko Obata (Japanese小 幡 佳 代 子, Kayoko Obata; born September 18, 1971 in Hiratsuka ) is a Japanese marathon runner.

In 1994 she was at her debut in the Seventh Hokkaido Marathon, 1995 same place Fifth and Ninth in 1996 at the Tokyo International Women's Marathon.

Her breakthrough came in 1997 when they did better than ninth in the Nagoya Marathon in 2:32:01 h and Fourth at the Berlin Marathon in 2:27:27 her personal best by about five minutes each.

In 1998, she was the Twelfth Osaka Women 's Marathon and fourth at the Chicago Marathon. With a fourth place in Osaka at the beginning of the following year she qualified for the IAAF World Championships in 1999 in Seville, where she was eighth.

In 2000, she was fifth respectively in Osaka and in Chicago. A further fifth in Osaka in 2001 was followed in the same year, a sixth and a seventh in 2002 in Chicago. After a disappointing 2004 in which she broke in each case on the 17th place in Osaka and Tokyo, and Twelfth at the Paris Marathon was, she paused one year.

In 2006 she qualified with a second place in Osaka for the Asian Games 2006 in Doha, where she won the bronze medal. In 2008 she arrived in Osaka do not have space 22. Shortly after she married her long-time fiancé Tomoyoshi Fujiwara.
