Kazerun also Kazeroon (Persian کازرون ) is a city in the province of Fārs in Iran. It is located 19 km south of the ancient city Bischāpūr on the route from Shiraz to Bushehr.

Kazerun, once merely suburb of the famous city, has been expanded following the destruction Bischāpūrs of Firuz, the son Yazdgerds II. During the Ghobād time ( 487-498 ), the expansion of the city has been driven.

Among the agricultural products Kāzerūns include dates, citrus fruits, wheat, tobacco, rice, cotton and wine.

In the city, a specific dialect of Old Kāzerūnī dialect spoken.

Personalities

Kazerun is also referred to as the "City of Science ". Personalities such as Qutb al-Din al- Shirazi, Allāme Jalaladdin Davani, Allāme Ali Davani, Shaykh Abu Eshaq Kāzerūnī, Behjat Ololamā, Shaykh Amin addin Baliani, Mirza Saleh Kāzerūnī, Naser Divan Kāzerūnī come from here, as well as the mothers of poets Hafez and Saadi.

Also Nasrollah Mardani, a famous Persian poet, comes from Kazerun. It is further believed that Salman the Persian, one of the disciples of Muhammad, was born in this city.
