Kazimierz Serocki

Kazimierz Serocki ( born March 3, 1922 in Toruń, † January 9, 1981 in Warsaw) was a Polish composer.

Serocki studied composition with Kazimierz Sikorski and piano with Stanisław Szpinalski at the State Academy of Music in Łódź. From 1947 to 1948 he continued his studies in Paris with Nadia Boulanger and Lazare Levy. He joined a few years as a concert pianist, in 1952, he devoted himself exclusively to composition. In 1949 he founded, together with Tadeusz Baird and Jan Krenz, the group of composers group 49 Together with Tadeusz Baird, he was one of 1956, the founders of the Warsaw Autumn Festival, a major contemporary music festivals.
