KazMunayGas ( KMG) (Russian КазМунайГаз, Kazakh ҚазМұнайГаз ) is a company based in Astana from Kazakhstan. It is listed on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange. 100 percent of the shares are owned by the Kazakh Samruk - Kazyna state-owned company. According to the company employs over 83,000 people are employed by KMG. The revenue from the petroleum company was around 2.8 trillion tenge in fiscal year 2011; profit rose to 422 billion tenge.

Subsidiaries

The group KazMunayGas in the petroleum industry, the company KazTransOil, KazTransGas and KazRosGas belong. The subsidiary KazMunayGas Exploration Production is the largest publicly traded companies in Kazakhstan; it is listed on the KASE Index.

The shipping company Kazmortransflot also part of the CMM. KazMunayTengiz is the company that is active on the Caspian Sea and the Aral Sea. The telecommunications company KazTransCom is also owned by KazMunayGas. The Group's products are distributed through the service station operator KazMunayGas - Onimderi.

History

The company was founded on 20 February 2002 by decision of the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was created by the merger of the two state-owned enterprises National oil and gas company Kazakhoil NC and Transport of Oil and Gas. First, the state owned company promoted by agreements with neighboring Russia in the north of the Caspian Sea. After further agreements with Russia and the People's Republic of China, the construction of pipelines has been driven.

In August 2007, the Company acquired a 75 percent stake in the Romanian Rompetrol Erdölliefernaten for around 3.6 billion dollars.

The end of 2009, the Company acquired together with the China National Petroleum Corporation 100 percent of the shares in the Kazakh oil company Mangghystaumunaigas.

Projects

The company's largest project is the first discovered in 2000 Kashagan oil field near Atyrau. With the production of oil is due to start between 2012 and 2014.
