Kazuya Tsurumaki

Kazuya Tsurumaki (Japanese鹤 巻 和 哉, Tsurumaki Kazuya, born February 2, 1966 in Gosen, Niigata Prefecture) is a Japanese film director Anime.

Tsurumaki started as an animator for GAINAX. Tsurumakis first big project at GAINAX was the task of animation director on the series The Secret of Blue Water. 1995 he worked as an assistant director Hideaki Anno along with on Neon Genesis Evangelion. In 1998 he took on the task of the director in the series Kare Kano after Anno had left the project due to a dispute with sponsors abruptly. In 2000, he turned for the first time independently its first anime series, FLCL and 2004 he made the sequel to Gunbuster, Diebuster. Most recently, he worked as a director on the first of four new films to Neon Genesis Evangelion, Evangelion: 1.0 - You are (not) alone Evangelion: 2.0 - You can ( not) advance. .
