The Kasyr (Russian Казыр ) is the 388 km long right- source river of the tuba in the South Siberian Sayan Mountains in Russia.

The Kasyr originates at Chonda - Dschuglymski - crest of the East Sayan, on the southwest side of the 2796 m high mountain Ary -Dag, about 350 km as the crow southeast of Krasnoyarsk and 175 km south-west of Nischneudinsk. While the source is located on the territory of the Irkutsk Oblast, the river reached after about 50 km in the predominantly south west, the Krasnoyarsk region. He maintains there as fast-flowing, water-rich mountain river in a mostly narrow valley at a predominantly western direction of flow. He points there on a variety of rapids, including Werchni Kitatski and Ubinski. The last few miles on the edge of the mountains, the valley widens, and the Kasyr forms several arms until he finally united about 20 km southeast of Kuragino with the coming of amyl left to right Yenisei Creek tuba.

The catchment area of the river comprises 20.9 thousand km ². The most important tributaries are Tabrat (length with laminar flow Taimenka 87 km), Moscharka ( with source river Tagassuk 106 km) and Kisir ( 300 km) from the right and the Rybnaja (92 km) from the left.

The outflow at the village Tajaty, 56 km upstream of the mouth and above the mouth of the most important tributary Kisir, is the year 302 m³ / s, with a maximum monthly average of 1,100 m³ / s in June and a minimum monthly average of 32.17 m³ / s in March. From the end of October until the second half of April, the river freezes usual.

The area on the upper and middle reaches of the Kasyr is virtually uninhabited, there are no towns. Only on the last about 100 km of the river, mainly below the confluence of the creek Tabrat and Ubinski rapids exist on both sides of the river a number of villages - some 20 km upstream is the only small, named after the river settlement Kasyr. The main towns on the river are Tscheremschanka and Tjuchtjat on the right bank ( in Rajon Kuraginski ) and Tajaty and Nischnije Kurjaty on the left bank ( in Rajon Karatusski ). Tscheremschanka and the surrounding villages as well as some settlements around the lake Tiberkul which drains via the 62 km long Tjuchtjaty to Kasyr are settlement area of several thousand supporters of the " Church of the Last Testament " under the Sergei Torop known as Vissarion.
