KDDI K. K. (English KDDI Corporation) is a Japanese telecommunications company, listed on the Nikkei 225 It offers both fixed and Mobiltelephondienste, broadband Internet services and enterprise networks and is the main competitor to market leader NTT Japanese telecommunications sector.

KDDI was formed in October 2000 through the merger of KDD (Japanese国际 电信 电话 株式会社, Kokusai Denshin Denwa KK), DDI ( Daini Denden Inc.,第二 电 电 企 画 株式会社) and IDO (日本 移动 通信 株式会社, Nippon Ido Tsushin KK).

In the mobile market, KDDI is working with the brands au / KDDI and Tu-Ka/kddi together with around 28 million customers and a turnover of 2.6 trillion yen and the subsidiary Okinawa Cellular Telephone in competition with market leader NTT DoCoMo. As an Internet service provider KDDI has a market share of 6.5 % in the fiber broadband customers (FTTH: Fibre To The Home). For landline calls - since market opening in 2001 with a free choice of the service provider without the need for code ( Myline ) - KDDI has a market share of 9 % for local calls and 14.1 % on long distance.

In the market for optical networks to KDDI strives to increase its proportion and attack the incumbent NTT and announced for April 1, 2008 to the acquisition of the Fiber Optics business of Chūbu Denryoku for around 28 billion yen.

2011 took over KDDI for 165 million U.S. $, founded in 2000, Korean full-service content delivery network (CDN ) company CDNetworks, which achieved a turnover of 99 million U.S. $ in 2010.
