Keats-Shelley Memorial House

The Keats -Shelley House is a Roman Literature Museum, dedicated to the writers John Keats and Percy Shelley.

In the situated on the Piazza di Spagna house lived John Keats from mid-November 1820 in three rooms, which he shared with his friend Joseph Severn, until he died there on 23 February 1821. In the house later also lived the Swedish doctor Axel Munthe and writer. Since the opening in the presence of the Italian king Victor Emmanuel III. on April 3, 1909, is open to the public. The collection contains manuscripts of the House of Mary Shelley, William Wordsworth, Joseph Severn and Oscar Wilde. Also located in the house a specialized English romanticism library of approximately 8,000 volumes, including first editions.
