Kecel

Kecel is a city on a small area Kiskőrös, located in Bács -Kiskun in southern Hungary. It has 9,000 inhabitants ( 2010).

Location

The city is situated on the main road No. 54 and is connected to the railway line from Kiskőrös to Kalocsa.

History

The first written mention of the village dates from 1198. According to the devastation caused by the Tatars and Turks in 1734 Kercel was newly established. 1869, the first post office was built. In 1882 the town was connected to the railway network. In 1928, the telephone network has been established. 1952, the village was electrified. Since 1960, flows from a 1000 meter deep bore 42 ° C water springs. It contains iodine and bromine. 1970 Kecel large village and town in 1993.
