Keda Municipality

The municipality Keda (Georgian ქედის მუნიციპალიტეტი ) is a municipality ( county ) in Georgia, in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. The administrative center of the municipality Keda Keda is. The area is 452 km ². The municipality has 20,317 inhabitants (2009 ).

To the north is the municipality of Kobuleti, bounded on the west by the municipality Chelwatschauri, to the east by the municipality Schuachewi and in the south by the Republic of Turkey. The border between the municipality and Keda Turkey runs on the mountain range of Schawscheti.

The highest mountain of the municipality is Ghoma with 2441 meters above sea level. The largest river is Adschariszqali. The Adschariszqali Valley in the municipality Keda is a tree of the richest areas of Georgia. There flora and fauna, which are not present in other regions of the country.

In some Döorfern of the municipality are Georgian medieval fortresses. In places, the medieval bridges are present.
