Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1 is the second album by Helloween, Michael Kiske on the first took over the vocals. Kai Hansen, the former singer of the band on guitar remained. The album was initially planned as a double album. However, this was not supported at the label. Therefore, it was two pieces ( Part 1 and Part 2) shared and published in successive years.
The album sold well ( 500,000 units were sold worldwide) and allowed the band their first U.S. tour with Grim Reaper and Armored Saint.
