Kees Pijl

Alidanis Cornelis " Kees " Pijl ( born June 9, 1897 in Oosterhout, † September 3, 1976 in Rotterdam ) was a Dutch football player and coach.

Pijl played from 1916 to 1932 at Feijenoord; for the Rotterdam shot the center-forward 179 goals in 203 league games. He is still the second best scorer in the club's history, behind Jaap Barendregt. With Pijl Feijenoord took 1924 and 1928 his first two titles. From 1942 to 1946 he worked at the club as coach of the first team.

He played from 1924 to 1926 eight caps for the Dutch national team. Five of his seven goals for the Oranje scored Pijl at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, four of them in the second round 6-0 over Romania.

In 1997, a street was named after him in Rotterdam.
