Keisuke Fujie

Keisuke Fujie (Japanese藤 江 恵 辅; ​​born November 8, 1885 in the Hyōgo Prefecture, † February 27, 1969 ) was a general in the Imperial Japanese Army.

Life

Fujie was born in 1885 in Hyōgo Prefecture and graduated in 1905 the Imperial Japanese Army Academy in the field of artillery from. In 1914 he graduated from the Imperial Japanese Army in addition high school.

After several uses in the Imperial General Staff Fujie was sent for some time as a military attaché to Europe and served among other things to the Japanese embassies in Paris, Bucharest and Sofia. Following his return to Japan, he became an instructor at the Army Staff College and Commander of the 5th Field Artillery Regiment.

Later Fujie was assigned to the staff of the 16th Division and was a part of the Japanese delegation to the Geneva Disarmament Conference. In August 1934 was followed by his promotion to major general. From 1936-1937 he was commander of the Kempeitai department within the Kwantung Army. In November 1937 he was promoted to lieutenant general.

During the Second Sino- Japanese War, he became only the command of the 16th Division. Later, however, he was recalled to Japan and was appointed commander of the Army Staff College. In February 1943 he was appointed commander of the Eastern District Army. In March 1945, even as he held the command of the 12th Regional Army, Fujie resigned and went into retirement. However, he was back in June of the same year again appointed to the service in order to command the 11th Regional army in the region Tōhoku. There they had to defend the order, the Japanese mother country against the expected Allied invasion.
