Kekkaishi

Kekkaishi (结 界 师Japanese ) is a manga series of the Japanese illustrator Yellow Tanabe, published from 2003 to 2011 in the manga magazine Shōnen Sunday. The manga won the Shogakukan Manga Award 2006 in the category shōnen. The series has also been implemented as an anime television series and three video games for Nintendo DS and Wii.

The work is about Yoshimori Sumimura, heir to an ancient family, who protects a magical power of demons, called Ayakashi. The manga can be classified in the shōnen genre, comedy, action and adventure.

Content

A long time ago attacked demons that Ayakashi, a prince in order to steal his magical powers and to dominate the world. But the monk Tokimori Hazama kept on the demons. After the prince died, he sealed his power in Karasumori. His two pupils watched now about the fact that the Ayakashi not seized power in itself. They used their magic arts, " Kekkai " in the fight against the demons. The Kekkai are magical shields with which the demons and ghosts can be caught and destroyed. Five hundred years later to protect the descendants of the two students as Kekkaishi still Karasumori. The two families Yukimura and Sumimura of them come from, but now the contest for the title of the legitimate successor of the monk.

The 14 -year-old Yoshimori Sumimura (墨 村 良 守), heir to the Sumimura dominated very strong Kekkai, only very difficult to cope with these, however. Although he wanted to be a Kekkaishi, he developed after experiences with ayakashi in his childhood especially Tokine against a strong protective instinct. He is assisted in the hunt demons from the demon dog Madarao (斑 尾), which can track the Ayakashi. This is over 500 years old.

Tokine Yukimura (雪村 时 音) is the heir of the other Kekkaishi Yoshimori family and is far superior in skill and knowledge. However, their Kekkai are very weak compared to Yoshi Moris. Your companion is the 400 year old demon dog Hakubi (白 尾).

Manga

Yellow Tanabe invented for the story of the " Kekkai " Art as a martial art. The term Kekkai is older for shields or spell circles. The series was published in the manga magazine Shonen Sunday the publisher Shogakukan. It started in issue 47/2003 and ended in issue 19 /2011, which was published on April 6, 2011. The chapters were also published in tankōbon so far 35 ( anthologies ), published between 18 February 2004 and 18 February 2011.

Viz Media published the manga in English in North America, the series Shonen Star also appears in the Indonesian magazine. The work was also translated into French and Italian. The manga appears at Carlsen Comics in the previous 20 volumes in German.

Anime

In 2006, the Sunrise studio an anime television series with 52 episodes to manga Kekkaishi produced. Here Kenji Kodama directed, Hirotoshi Takaya took over the character design and Shigemi Ikeda as artistic director. The series was broadcast on the channels YTV and Nippon TV in Japan from 16 October 2006.

The anime was broadcast in Taiwan by Taiwan Television in Malaysia by 8TV and in the USA by Adult Swim and streamed on Hulu.

Music

The music of the series comes from Taku Iwasaki. Was used for the opening credits Sha la la- Ayakashi NIGHT ( Sha la la -アヤカシNIGHT ) with SÄKA Uura. For the guy four titles were produced:

  • Akai Ito (赤い 糸) with Koshi Inaba
  • Sekaijū Doko o Sagashite mo (世界中 どこ を 探し て も) by Aiko Kitahara
  • May Mirai (マイミライ) with SÄKA Uura
  • Kyūkei Jikan Juppun (休憩 时间10分) with SÄKA Uura

Video Games

Namco Bandai Games released two games adaptations of the manga for the console Nintendo DS 2007 In the same year in September, the game appeared in Kekkaishi Bandai Namco. Kokubōrō no Kage (結界 師 黒 芒 楼 の 影) for the Wii.
