The Kelantan ( Malaysian Sungai Kelantan ) is a river in Malaysia.
Geography
He is one of the three largest rivers on the Malay Peninsula. Its catchment area covers about 85 % of the federal state of Kelantan and is congruent with most of the state borders. The river is formed by the confluence of the two rivers Sungai Galas and Sungai Lebir near the town of Kuala Krai. His highest sources are located on Gunung Korbu ( 2183 m). It flows about 9 km north of the city of Kota Bharu in the South China Sea.
Hydrology
In the winter months, the rainy season often leads to flooding.
