Kendall's notation
The Kendalls notation allows the standardized description of a waiting system. It was developed by David George Kendall and has become widely accepted as a standard. The characteristic sizes of the waiting system in a defined sequence of letters and digits are classified.
Or simplified if for the remaining parameters default values (see below) will be accepted.
- = Exponential ( Markovian distribution)
- = Constant ( deterministic distribution),
- Hyperexponentialverteilung = ( linear combination of two or more exponential distributions ),
- = Erlang distribution,
- = Phase distribution
- Any distribution or = (General (Independent ) Distribution)
- FIFO (First In - First Out ) or FCFS (First- Come First -Served )
- LIFO ( Last In - First Out ) or LCFS ( Last- Come First -Serve )
- SJN ( Shortest - Job -Next ) or SPT ( Shortest Processing Time)
- RANDOM ( Random ) or SIRO ( Serve In Random Order)
