Kenema

Province

Kenema is a city in Sierra Leone. It is also the capital of the Eastern Province and the district of Kenema. With a population of about 155,000 it is the third largest city in the country. The population of the district of Kenema is about 506,000.

Geography

Kenema is located about six hours' drive southeast of the capital Freetown. In Greater Kenema 1931 diamond fields were developed in the years that are still exploited today and represent a significant economic factor for the region and the whole country.

Religion

Kenema Kenema is the seat of the diocese.
