Kennebunkport is a town in York County ( Maine), USA with 3,474 inhabitants ( according to the census of 2010). Kennebunkport is known as the summer home of former U.S. President George HW Bush.

Initially called Arundel, the area was visited in the summer as early as 1602 by fishermen. The continuous settlement began in 1629 with Richard Vines. From 1653 Maine belongs, the name was changed in 1821 in Kennebunkport. The city center is located on the Kennebunk River, about a mile from its mouth in the Atlantic Ocean. Originally a fishing and marine farming village, it is a popular seaside resort for over a century. The prominent tourist destination of the wealthy is considered one of the most expensive resorts in the northeastern United States.

Attractions

Kennebunkport has a small district with gift shops, art galleries, restaurants and guesthouses. Since 1939, the city exists in the Seashore Trolley Museum, which mass transport of several decades. Other attractions in the town center are the First Congregational Church and the Notts House. The beautiful sandy beach is the Goose Rocks Beach north of Walker's Point, the summer home of President George HW Bush family ( senior).
