Kenny vs. Spenny is a Canadian reality / comedy show and was produced from 2001 to 2010. In the show Kenny vs. Spenny it comes to various competitions between Kenneth Hotz and Spencer Rice. Both were born in Toronto, Canada and grew up there together on.
The show was set in December 2010 after 87 episodes.
Concept
At the beginning of each show, the competition and the associated rules are presented, such as " Who can stay awake longer? " - The corresponding rule: " Do not take any illegal drugs'. The loser has to endure at the end of the program a humiliation. In an unintentional draw (time related, tie, etc. ) there is no punishment, but if both decide to give up, there is a double humiliation.
While Spenny strictly adheres in most cases the rules, Kenny tries to stretch them as far as possible. He also does not shy away from cheating, since the video is not evaluated until later. An exception was only in Episode 40, in which the winner was determined on the basis of the video material.
Nominations and marketing
Between 2002 and 2009, 87 episodes were filmed and broadcast in six seasons. The show was 2004, 2006 and 2008, nominated for a Gemini Award.
The concept of the program was marketed in several countries, for example France, Germany and the Netherlands. In the German version of Elton vs. Simon was even adopted some competitions directly, such as " Who can longer sit on a cow? " Or " Who earns more money in three days? ".
Since July 2008, beamed in Germany the station Comedy Central weekly synchronized from Season 4. Similar to the synchronization of American Chopper, the votes but only talked about the yet to be heard sound. After the transmitter 11 October 2008 initially took the series from the program, the first season on German television ran from 12 December 2008.
