Kevin Cosgrove

Kevin Michael Cosgrove ( born January 6, 1955 † 11 September 2001 in New York ) was an American manager and vice president of Aon Corporation. Cosgrove was among the 175 Aon employees who died in the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001.

He became known through the so-called " 9-1-1 call", as Cosgrove has tried jointly with two other men in the 105th floor of the World Trade Center, WTC 2 (the south tower) from the World Financial Center, his family for the last time to call. The conversation took place in John Ostarus office. During the call, a certain Doug Cherry is mentioned. He told the operator: " My wife thinks I'm safe, I called her and assured her that I have to leave the building safely and then ... BANG! ". Cosgrove's last words were: "Hello? Hello! We're looking, we're looking over the Financial Center. Three of us, two broken windows. " A few seconds later he yelled " Oh God! Oh! " When the connection was interrupted and the Tower collapsed.

His remains were later found in the rubble. He was buried on 22 September 2001 at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Huntington, New York.

Kevin Cosgrove lived on Long Iceland and left behind his wife, the teacher Wendy Cosgrove, and three children.
