Kevin Dahl

Kevin Curtis Dahl ( born December 30, 1968 in Regina, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who in his playing days from 1986 to 2004 among others for the Calgary Flames, Phoenix Coyotes, Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League as well as the Nuremberg Ice Tigers played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.

Career

Kevin Dahl began his career as a hockey player at Bowling Green State University, which he attended from 1986 to 1990 and for the hockey team he played parallel to his studies in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1988 in the eleventh round when a total of 230 players from the Canadiens de Montréal, for which, however, he never played. Instead, the defender ran on in the season 1990/91 for the Fredericton Canadiens of the American Hockey League as well as the Winston -Salem Thunderbirds in the ECHL. In the season 1991/92 he took part mainly with the Team Canada at the Olympic Preparation, following which he played until the end of the season for the Golden Eagles from the Salt Lake International Hockey League. From 1992 to 1996 he was a regular for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League action, as he stood in parallel in a total of 25 games for their farm team in Saint John Flames of the AHL on the ice.

For the 1996/97 season Dahl was taken as a free agent by the Phoenix Coyotes under contract. However, for the team from Arizona, he played only twice in the NHL and spent the entire rest of the season with their partners Las Vegas Thunder of the IHL. From 1997 to 2001, the Canadians stepped in for the IHL Chicago Wolves team with which he for the seasons 1997/98 and 1999/2000 respectively won the Turner Cup. In parallel, he came to sporadic interventions in the NHL for his ex-team Calgary Flames and the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets. Most recently he was active from 2001 to 2004 for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, before he ended his career at the age of 35 years.

Internationally

For Canada, Dahl took part in the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville in part, in which he won the silver medal with his team.
