Kevin Harmse

Kevin Harmse ( born July 4, 1984 in Johannesburg, South Africa ) is a Canadian soccer player.

Club career

Harmse was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, but grew up in Coquitlam, British Columbia. He was drafted by the USL First Division franchise Vancouver Whitecaps in 2002, but signed a contract with the club, but instead attended tryouts in Europe, including at Bayern Munich and Benfica. He signed in early 2003 a contract with the Norwegian side Tromsø IL, for he did until his departure end of the year came just two Erstligaeinsätzen.

In 2004 he returned to Canada and spent two years playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the USL First Division. After the end of the 2005 season, he went for a trial to Slovakian first division club FC Nitra, where he drew upon a serious knee injury that forced him to a multi- month hiatus. In 2007 he signed a contract in Major League Soccer with Los Angeles Galaxy, after he had completed the pre-season with the team, and was the team superstar David Beckham to 17 inserts. In early 2008, he moved in exchange for Toronto's fourth- round pick in the MLS SuperDraft 2009 Toronto FC. In 2009, he won with the Toronto Canadian Championship and helped the team so that the first-time participation in the CONCACAF Champions League. End of June 2009, he moved against payment of a transfer fee to the league rivals CD Chivas USA, but did not arrive until end of season for use. On January 21, Chivas Harmse was in exchange for a pick in the MLS SuperDraft 2012 Houston Dynamo off because of an injury he could not there mitbestreiten the preseason and was gewaivt on March 9, 2010.

On 25 March 2011 Harmse has been contracted by the Vancouver Whitecaps. After three inserts in Major League Soccer, he was released on June 10.

On 13 December 2011, he joined the North American Soccer League for the San Antonio Scorpions.

National

Harmse qualified in 2002 with the Canadian U -20 team for the Junior World Most shank 2003 in the United Arab Emirates. He participated in all five games at the World Cup finals, the tournament ended for the Canadian team in the quarterfinals when they defeated the Spanish Overtime Juniors 1-2. 2004 involved Harmse for U-23 squad at the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games 2004. The Canadian Eleven failed to qualify from the group stage in the early stage.

In March 2007, the defensive players were variably deployable in a friendly match against Bermuda his debut in the Canadian national team. Three months later, he took part with the national team at the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Harmse came the semi-finals of Canada to three sub- missions in the group stage.
