Kfar Blum (Hebrew כפר בלום ) is a kibbutz in the Upper Galilee Huleebene in northern Israel with about 500 inhabitants (2008).

History

Kfar Blum was founded by members of the Zionist- socialist youth movement Habonim, Habonim Dror today, in November 1943. The founding members were mainly from the UK, South Africa, the United States and the Baltics. The kibbutz was to Léon Blum, the first Socialist Prime Minister of France, named.

Economy

The main economic base of the kibbutz are the cultivation of cotton and fruits and dairies, the metal working industry. In recent years, Kfar Blum also grew due to increasing tourism. The location of the kibbutz on the rivers Jordan and Hasbani at the foot of Mount Hermon has let Kfar Blum to become a center for outdoor activities such as hiking, rafting and kayaking.
