Khabib Allakhverdiev
Chabib Mewlidinowitsch Allachwerdiew; Russian: Хабиб Мевлидинович Аллахвердиев; English transcription: Khabib Mevlidinovitch Allakhverdiev ( born December 8, 1982 in Kaspijsk, Dagestan ) is a Russian professional boxer and current world champion of the WBA and IBO light welterweight.
Amateur career
As an amateur boxer he won in 172 of 189 fights and in 1998 won the silver medal at the Cadet European Championships in Jurmala. He suggested doing Rafał Szamocki from Poland ( Ko), Pavol Hlavačka from Slovakia ( 11:5 ) and Giovanni Iadicicco from Italy ( Ko), before the Romanians Marius Bughiata defeated on points in the final.
In 1999, he won the Russian Junior Championships Bantamweight, and in 2000 the bronze medal in the lightweight at the Junior World Championships in Budapest. After victories against Jaffer Sayed from Sweden ( 10:0 ), Michele Di Rocco from Italy ( 25:8 ), Artem Paschtschuk from Ukraine ( 18:8 ) and Terry Fletcher from England ( Ko), he lost in the semifinals against Farhad Adjalow from Azerbaijan to points. In December 2003 he won the Military World Games in Catania and 2004, the Russian Championships in the lightweight.
In 2005 he won a bronze medal in the lightweight, at the 13th World Championships in Mianyang Chinese. After a bye in the first preliminary round, he defeated then the Mongols Urantschimegiin monk - Erdene ( 27:19 ), in the second round of the Qatar's Ali Asalow ( Ko) and in the quarterfinals Dudás Tibor from Hungary ( 45:27 ), but lost in the semi-final against the Cubans Yordenis ugas ( 22:45 ).
Professional career
In 2007 he moved to the United States turned professional and was trained by Kostya Tszyu. He won his professional debut on March 10, 2007 at Madison Square Garden in New York City by Ko in the first round. After another ten wins in a row, he won on May 23, 2010 in Moscow, the Asian champion title of the WBC light welterweight. He defeated while his compatriot Karen Tewosjan by unanimous decision.
25 September 2011, he boxed in Krasnodar against the Americans Nate Campbell, former world title support the IBF, WBA and WBO lightweight. The fight ended in the sixth round due to a Cutverletzung at Campbell's left eyebrow, which had suffered by this inadvertent head butt of Allachwerdiew. According to the rules, there was then to evaluate the score sheet on which Allachwerdiew was in the lead and was therefore declared the winner.
After a premature victory against Colombian Ignacio Mendoza, he won on June 20, 2012 in Moscow, the IBO Light Welterweight World Championship in by Ko in the fourth round against the South Africans Kaizer Mabuza, former world title challenger from Zab Judah. On November 30, 2012, he fought for the vacant WBA world light welterweight in against unbeaten Joan "Little Tyson" Guzman ( 33-0, 20 Ko). Again, the fight in the eighth round ended prematurely after Guzmán had injured the left knee. Allachwerdiew, which was at that time a narrow lead on points, was declared the winner then.
In July 2013 he defended his title by TKO in the eleventh round against Souleymane M'baye ( 40-4 ).
