Khachmaz District
Xaçmaz, also Khachmaz, is a rayon in the north of Azerbaijan. The capital of the district is the city Xaçmaz. The district is bordered to the north by Dagestan, Russia.
Geography
The district has an area of 1,048 km ². In the east, the region is bounded by the Caspian Sea, in the west of the Great Caucasus begins. The land belongs to the Samur - Devechi level. There are several mineral and thermal springs. Through the region of the river Gudial flows.
Population
In Rayon lived 2009 158.800 people. These are spread over 26 settlements.
Economy
