Khamtrul Rinpoche
Khamtrül Rinpoche (Tib. rin po che khams sprul ) is an incarnation line of the Drukpa Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. These are the successive incarnations of Khampa Karma Tenphel (karma bstan ' phel ), a major Drukpa Kagyu master. The headquarters of this incarnation lineage was the Khampagar Monastery ( Khampa Gar ) in Kham, eastern Tibet, he was regarded as one of the most important monasteries of the Drukpa Kagyu lines. The 8th Khamtrül Rinpoche, Dongyue Nyima, built in the late 1960s, a Khampagar Monastery in Tashi Jong, Himachal Pradesh, India.
An important member of the series was the fourth Rinpoche Tenzin Chokyi Nyima Khamtrül (Tib. bstan 'dzin chos kyi nyi ma; 1730-1779/80 ), a disciple of Situ Chokyi Penchen Chungne. He is the author of rgyan gyi bstan bcos dbyangs can ngag gi rol mtsho, a highly respected commentary on the ancient Indian mirror of poetry (Tib. snyan ngag me long), which was taken in in the Tibetan book series gangs can rig mdzod.
