The Chatangagolf (Russian Хатангский залив, Chatangski golf ), also Chatangabucht ( Бухта Хатангский, Chatangski -Guba ) called, is one in the northern part of Siberia, Russia (Asia) by golf the Laptev Sea ( Arctic Ocean ) and forms the estuary ( estuary ) of the Chatanga, a stream of the North Siberian lowland. Geographical location

Fauna, climate and ice conditions

In the hinterland of the barren, and in many places quite high, steep and rugged coastline of Chatangagolfs tundra prevail with mosses and lichens, being frost rubble deserts reach to the beaches. The winters are long and extremely cold, the summers are short and cold. Around September to July of the Gulf is covered by ice.
