Khodadad Azizi

Khodadad Azizi (Persian خداداد عزیزی Chodadad ʿ Azizi; born June 22, 1971 in Mashhad ) is a former Iranian football player.

Career

Azizi played at the start of his football career at Abu Moslem Mashhad and FC Bahman Karaj. The striker came in 1997 by Persepolis 1 FC Cologne. In the Bundesliga, he came there to 20 missions, scoring five goals. When the club in 1998 relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga, Azizi was the traditional Cologne club faithful. After promotion back to the Premier League but he left in 2000, the association for the United States, where he signed a contract with the San Jose Earthquakes. Only a year later he moved to Al -Nasr in the United Arab Emirates to a short time later to join the Iranian giants Pas Tehran. He played four years for the "Green " and scored a total of 23 results. In 2005 he moved back to Europe. He was in Austria a contract with VfB Admira Wacker Mödling but he left after a short time. The reason both sides called insurmountable differences between then coach and Azizi. He then returned back to Iran and each played a season for the Oghab FC and Rah Ahan. In 2006 Azizi ended his career as an active soccer player.

Khodadad Azizi played a total of 47 caps for the Iranian national football team, where he scored eleven goals.

In early 2007 he began a coaching career at Abu Moslem Mashhad. However, after just one year there, he received a dismissal in October 2007. Since 2008, Azizi is employed as Technical Director at Payam Mashhad, with whom he recently managed to move up to the IPL.
