Khola

Khola is a village in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Khola is the most populous city of the canton Caracato district ( bolivian: Municipio) Sapahaqui in the province Loayza. The village of Khola is located at an altitude of 2090 m at the mouth of the Río Huacullani in the Río Luribay in the northern foothills of the Serranía de Sicasica.

Geography

Khola is located between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands to the east. The region exhibits a typical day time environment, in which the mean temperature difference between day and night is greater than the temperature difference between seasons.

From La Paz the paved highway Ruta 1 leads south across El Alto to the south.
