Kílian Jornet Burgada

Kilian Jornet Burgada ( born October 27, 1987 in Sabadell ) is a Spanish ski mountaineer, mountain runners and duathlete combined mountain running and mountain biking from Catalonia.

Life

Jornet began in 1999 with the ski mountaineering. By participating in the Spain Cup in La Molina, he played his first competition in 2000 and has been a member since 2003 of the Spanish national ski mountaineering, since 2007 also in the squad of men. He is member of the international Dynafit team and lives in Puigcerdà.

Already in the junior class he scored numerous championship titles in international and national competitions. For his achievements in ski mountaineering he was in 2004, 2005 and 2006 winner of the Catalan sports prize Premi d' honor català d' esport. Since 2004 he has " high-level athlete " of the Catalan Sports Council ( Consell Català de l' Esport ) and the High Sports Council ( Consejo Superior de Deportes ) of the Spanish Government (No. 40,563,172 - Monana y Escalada ).

In 2005 he presented in mountain running the course record at the Dôme de Neige the Ecrins ( 4,015 m), he won the 2007 by winning four out of seven races and 2008 by winning three of six races in each case as the overall winner the Buff SkyRunner World Series of Federation for Sport at Altitude (FSA ).

His sister Naila Jornet Burgada is also active ski mountaineer.
