Kilju

Kilju is a Finnish home-made alcoholic beverage. Its raw materials are yeast, sugar and water. Kilju is mainly enjoyed because of its alcohol content because its production demands attention and the final product is generally of poor quality.

By law, it is illegal in Finland to produce Kilju if only sugar is used in the process. This regulation can be circumvented, because the use of fruits or berries during fermentation makes the product law to a type of wine.

Its simple fabrication process and low cost make Kilju a popular drink among students or alcohol addict.
