Kilpi

Kilpi (German label) is a Finnish hard rock band from Turku, whose music is the typical characteristics of hard rock and heavy metal has the 1980s. The band is named after the family name of its founder Pete Kilpi.

Band History

Kilpi was originally a hobby of Pete Kilpi, the home set himself up a recording studio and so tried out different ideas. As a text for his first experiments, he used some of the Finnish-language poems to his wife, which he combined with the music. Because he felt the first results to be interesting, he contacted his friend Taage Laiho, the then newly einsang the vocal tracks of demo recordings. With Janne Karttila, Aleksi sum, Juha Kukkola and Janne Laaksonen, the two finally were formed a band in full occupation.

The first single should be a self-released originally. In February 2003, began in Mökki by Pete Kilpi parents recording their debut album Sähkönsinistä Sinfoniaa, which was released on 28 May 2003 and went to number 32 of the Finnish album charts. The following summer, the band performed for the first time live on, among other things, at Ruisrock.

In spring 2004 the next single Sielut Iskee tulta that even better than its predecessor section with # 7 in the charts and the band earned further appearances throughout the country appeared. In the summer of 2004 the recordings for the next album began. II taso (German II level ) was published on 29 September 2004 and reached the Top 10 of the album charts. Following the band went on their first tour.

On 8 February 2006 released their third album Kilpi Kaaoksen kuningas (German King of Chaos ). Two of the songs contained on Toinen Minä and catharsis were selected for the Finnish preliminary rounds for Euro Vision Song Contest, where the band finished sixth overall in the televoting. Lordi represented Finland at this year's song contest.

In 2007, the band released on their own label Killbee Records only the live album Kaaos and shortly after the DVD Kuningas. On 2 April 2008 the fourth studio album was released IV
