Kim Bong-soo

Kim Bong -soo ( Kor. 김봉수; born November 30, 1962 in Seoul ) is a former South Korean tennis player.

Career

Kim Bong -soo could win a title on the ATP Tour in his career. In 1989 he sat in the individual competition in Beijing by. A year earlier, he celebrated his only appearance at a Grand Slam tournament, when he retired in the first round of the Australian Open. He defeated the Indians Ramesh Krishnan 3:6, 6:3, 4:6, 6:4 and 4:6.

He participated in 1988 in the Olympics in his hometown of Seoul. After he won in the opening round of the individual competition against George Kalovelonis in five sets, he met in connection to the set at position four Frenchman Henri Leconte. This he defeated surprisingly 4:6, 7:5, 6:3, 3:6 and 7:5. In the second round, he had to give clearly beaten in three sets of Argentine Martín Jaite. In the doubles competition, he retired together with Yoo Jin -sun out in the first round. He and Yoo defeated by the Indians Anand and Vijay Amritraj in three sets.

Kim Bong -soo played 1984-1990 a total of 14 matches for the South Korean Davis Cup team. Both its individual balance sheet with 13:8 as well as its double balance with 5:1 is positive. Together with Yoo Jin -sun, he is the most successful double South Korea's Davis Cup history.

Since February 24, 1990 Kim Bong -soo is married to Kim Eun- hee.
