Kim Insuk

Life

Kim Insuk was born on January 1, 1963 in Seoul. Since its first publication year of losses ( 상실 의 계절 ) with twenty years, Kim went through several phases in its development as a writer. A desire for freedom and purity, accompanied by a dislike of principles characterized their early works.

Though her early works are considered sensitive and thoughtful considerations, they met with no resonance in the political and moral climate of the turbulent eighties. Without didactic intentions in their works, the young author has been heavily criticized for being removed from the worst hardships of the public and ignore the cause of the workers' and democratic movement.

The late eighties, she began a series of works to be published that demonstrated a clear change in their choice of subjects of individual freedom and personal desire, to social issues and reforms. However, this change in Kim's literary focus is neither a grudging response to external criticism, nor is it a passive acceptance of literary fashion; Rather, it represents the efforts of an author who constantly engaged in self-reflection, transformation and renewal.

In the late nineties, she entered another phase of metamorphosis in their works. Its central characters are no longer on the battlefield of life, instead they are now self - recognized nobodies without role models or hopes that crowd in the shadow in the background of the company and lead a meaningless and quiet life.
