Kim Jeong-hwan

Kim Jeong- hwan ( born January 22, 1954 in Seoul) is a South Korean writer and poet.

Life

Kim Jeong- hwan was born on 22 January 1954 in Seoul. He made in 1980 with a degree in English at the Seoul National University. He made his literary debut official in 1980, when six of his works were published.

Kim's confrontation with a society composed largely of working-class, clearly represents the poetic transformation that he has gone through in the late eighties. In the late nineties, Kim published a collection of poems entitled coatings ( 기차 에 대하여 ). The poems in this anthology reveal the philosophy and character of the working class, through a simple and concise language, free from the occasional monotony, as it is normally found in prose.

Kim also has a lot of realistic poems published that deal with the suffering, the frustrations and hopes of the minjung.
