Life

Kim Nam -jo was born on September 26, 1927 ( about the exact date there seems to be uncertainty as to references in both 25 as well as 26 September finds her date of birth ) born in Daegu. She attended a girls' school in Kyushu, Japan in 1951 and made her degree in Korean to become a teacher at the College of Education Seoul National University. Your official literary debut she had during her studies in 1950, when she published the poems constellation ( 성수 (星宿) ) and afterimage ( 잔상 (残 像)) in the Yonhap Shinmun.

Kim taught at the Masan High School and the Ewha Girl's High School. In 1954 she received her professor at Sookmyung Women's University. She works as chairman of the Korean poet Association and is currently a member of the Korean Academy of Art. Her first collection of poems life ( 목숨 ) was published in 1953 and she received throughout her career several awards and prizes.

Kim is a prolific writer who has published over thirty volumes of poetry. The richness of her poetry is due to their dynamic use of sensory language and vivid imagery to illustrate the subtlety of human emotions. Your two predecessors Moh Youn Sook and No Ch'on - Myong following, Kim also plays an important role in the history, written by women Korean poetry.

The poems in her first collection of poems life offer both an affirmation of humanity as well as a passion for the dynamics of life. These poems represent a harmonious balance between Catholic piety and a passionate, human voice. The poems in her second collection of poems, The pleasures Naad 's ( 나 아드 의 향유 ) and her third collection of poems tree and wind ( 나무 와 바람 ) put more emphasis on the religious beliefs and focus mainly on the exploration of Christian humanism and Christian ethics. Her later poems reject the passion for domination and perseverance as part of religious introspection. In her anthology Sea in Winter ( 겨울 바다 ), she uses her brilliant poetic imagination to a world to describe, in which the human emotions have gained absolute purity.
