Kim Pyong-il

Kim Pyong -il ( born August 10, 1954 in North Korea) is a North Korean diplomat, half- brother of former North Korean leader Kim Jong- il died in 1994 and son of the country's founder Kim Il-sung. Since 1998 he has been ambassador of North Korea in Poland.

Family background and early life

Kim Pyong -il was born as the son of North Korean founder Kim Il-sung and his second wife, Kim Song - ae. In addition to his biological brother, Kim Yong -il ( not to be confused with the former North Korean Prime Minister Kim Yong -il ), he is the younger half-brother of the deceased in December 2011 state leader of North Korea Kim Jong- il and has worked with Kim Kyung- hee, a younger half-sister.

His studies concluded Kim Pyong -il in Economics at the Kim Il-sung University in Pyongyang from. From home, he was also required to complete a military training at the State Institute of War. He attained the rank of battalion commander here.

Diplomatic career

From 1979, Kim Pyong -il was sent to a wide variety of representations of North Korea within Europe. Thus his influence on policy in North Korea should be weakened.

His first stop as a diplomat of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was the former Yugoslavia. Even before the collapse of the multiethnic state and before the outbreak of the political changes in Central and Eastern Europe, he was appointed ambassador of North Korea in Hungary in 1988. In 1989, however, in Hungary the political change was initiated and the country resumed relations with South Korea, he was transferred to Bulgaria. In the early 1990s he came to Finland, where he remained until the closure of the North Korean embassy in 1998.

In 1994, when his father Kim Il-sung died, Kim Pyong -il was allowed while traveling to the funeral in Pyongyang, but his name was called on any of the official lists.

Private

Kim Pyong -il has two grown children, his daughter Kim Eun -song and his son Kim In -kang. Both are believed to have come in Yugoslavia to the world, but studied at Polish universities. Kim Pyong -il's son Kim In -kang is married and writes to the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw his doctoral thesis.
