Kim Seon-wu

Kim Sun -Woo (born 1970 in Gangneung, Kangwŏn -do) is a South Korean writer and poet.

Life

Kim Sun -Woo was born in 1970 in Gangneung, Kangwŏn -do and began her career in 1996 as a series of her poems in the magazine novels and criticism ( 창작 과 비평 ) were published.

According to the poet Ra Heeduk, Kim's poetry is full of ' bashful and yet intense sensuality that is reminiscent of moist petals ' and ' their femininity exudes richness from, like those of embryonic fluid '. The women in her poems are ' embryos, mothers and midwives in a '. The image of women as bountiful, life-giving and life-affirming essence dominates her first collection of poems, If my tongue will not stay quiet in my mouth ( 내 혀 가 입 속에 갇혀 있길 거부 한다면 ).

The celebration of the female body, is often accompanied by the abhorrence of oppression by the male world. In the title poem Kim represents the female desire for freedom from male oppression by a series of disturbing images, such as the skull of a baby hanging around her mother's neck and a gush of decapitated camellias represents the protagonist is forced to strip by to sew new skin on a monster that gets bigger and bigger. Your attempt to kill the monster, fails due to the fact that her tongue is locked in his mouth.
