Life

Kim Yong Sin was born on April 1, 1945 in Busan. His family was poor, the circumstances were messy and his birth was accompanied by no great celebrations. He was exposed early on poverty, separation and death. At fourteen, he had to endure the loss of his father, and shortly thereafter he left his grandmother. As well as his two older siblings deserted him, could he do otherwise than to leave with his three half-sisters of the house. The following period was a period of wandering, without a fixed dwelling.

Kim's life on the road is described in detail in his first collection of poems. He describes his various professions, such as Porters, bicycle taxi driver, an extra in a movie and reamer in a village that was demolished due to a renovation project. He also writes about the time where he had to sell his blood to buy food can, of his life as a thief, and finally. From his time as a henchman for a gang in prison At sixteen, he first came to jail. His life there was in contrast to the hardships that awaited him outside, a relief. In prison, he got at least to food, clothes, and above all he had time to read. In prison, it was better than outside. He called the prison ' my classroom, my office '.

His poems are records of someone who knows what life looks like at the bottom of society. However, they do not contain the all-consuming rage over the Company or the hostility that one would expect from a poet with his background. He made the capitalist society, whose oppression of the workers or the contradiction in the social structure not blame you. His poems take a sympathetic view of the strained lives of those who were thrown to the bottom of society, and he embraces this warm-hearted. They exist as silent voices that whisper to give comfort that reflects the experiences of the workers.
