Kim Song Gun
Kim Song Gun, also Seong Geun Kim, ( Kor. 김성근; * 1945 in Chonma, North Korea) is a North Korean painter. He works in the art troupe Art Studio in Pyongyang.
Work
Kim Song Gun is also known as the "Painter of the waves " since it almost exclusively marine and river scenes paints with roaring waters, although the representations on the one hand are very realistic, reached the painter on the other by the brutality of the waves a subtle, modern form of abstraction. One of his shaft pictures attracted international attention because it state visit to Kim Jong- il was seen in 2009 in the background of the official photos of Bill Clinton.
