Kim Weston

Agatha Nathalia " Kim " Weston ( born December 20, 1939 in Detroit ) is an American soul singer of the 1960s, which is mainly caused by her duet with Marvin Gaye It Takes Two (1966 ) remained in my memory. In 1961 she got a contract with Motown.

Chart success

In 1963 she first came into the charts with Love Me All The Way ( number 88 on the Billboard / pop charts ). Their first duet with Gaye What Good Am I Without You (1964 ) came in at number 61, Weston's biggest solo success was 1965 Take Me in Your Arms ( Rock Me a Little While) with # 4 on the R & B charts and # 50 of the normal pop charts. After her solo hit Helpless (1966 ), she took it takes two on with Gaye, a place 14 in the U.S. charts and # 6 in the UK. Despite this success, Gaye moved there before then to include duets with Tammi Terrell. Weston brought solo only Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing 1970 in the charts.
